Exodus 3:14 And God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM." And He said, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.'"
God wants you to personally experience His fullness as you form your relationship with Him. For example:
I know God as healer – for I have experienced personal healing from Him, many times! I have seen blind eyes open and deaf ears see, and even cancer fall off a man's face! He is our Healer. (Exodus 15:26, 1Peter 2:24)
I know God as deliverer – for He delivered me in one second's time from the bondage of alcohol, and now, 22 years later, I have never, ever even desired a drink. He is our Deliverer. (Psalm 91:15, Colossians 1:13)
I know God as Savior – for He surely has saved me from the pit of hell and has restored my relationship with the Father and cleansed me from ALL my sins! He is our Salvation. (Jeremiah 14:17, Acts 2:21)
These are absolutes that assure my heart, for I know Him in these ways! But there are areas of my life that are lacking. I am not 100% confident of God in these areas because I am still focusing on myself and have not allowed Him to take the throne in these areas of my heart. For example:
I do not fully know God as my provider – for I struggle with a sense of having to provide and work, and it is sometimes a burden for me. While I understand the concept that He is my provider, I fall short, and I believe that is why there is lack in my life. Yet He is Jehovah Jireh – The Lord Will Provide! And He wants me to depend on Him for provision and prosperity – not rely on myself! He is our Provider. (Genesis 22:14, 1 Timothy 6:17)
I do not fully know God's love – for I still struggle with feelings of unworthiness, and I judge people more than reach out with an overflow of His love toward them. I know in my head that He loves me, but it is still not fully settled in my heart. I am lacking in this area. Yet, God is Love! He is our Love! (Zephaniah 3:17, Romans 5:5)
What do you know about God? What do you lack in your life right now? Anything? Where, if any, do you feel you come short of realizing every promise of God? God says to you, “I AM WHO I AM.” HE IS all things to you – and whatever the need, He wants to fill it. Continue to seek Him – learn of Him – and experience Him in every facet of your life, for wherever you lack … He wants to fill and fulfill.
“Lord, take your place in every area of our hearts, for Your names' sake and for Your glory, that we may realize every blessing you died to bring us. Jesus, in Your name I ask, Amen.”
